Visionary Leadership, Apostolic Legacy

Bishop Michael & Lady Betty Bender

Bishop Michael Bender serves as the Senior Pastor of Faith Apostolic Church, shepherding one church across three thriving locations in Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, and Huntsville, Alabama. He became Pastor in 2016, building on the rich spiritual foundation established by his Apostolic father, Bishop Heron Johnson, the founder of Faith Apostolic Church.

A man of prayer and fasting, Bishop Bender’s ministry is marked by a Davidic anointing of praise and worship, combined with revelatory teaching and dynamic preaching that resonates across generations. He is well known for his melodic voice, his ability to connect with people of all ages, and his passion for leading souls into a deeper walk with Christ.

Bishop Bender is a visionary and innovator in ministry, recognized for his forward-thinking leadership and his mentorship of young ministers. In 2018, Aenon Bible College, the educational arm of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, awarded Bishop Bender with an honorary Doctorate in recognition of his contributions to the body of Christ. His global impact includes serving as International Minister of Music for the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World (PAW) before being appointed as the current Auxiliary Director of the Music and Sacred Arts Ministry of the PAW. In 2022, he was elevated to Diocesan Bishop of the Northern Philippines District Council. He also serves as the Resident Bishop for the 9th Episcopal Diocese of Alabama.

Alongside him in ministry is his devoted wife, Lady Betty Bender, a wise and discerning leader in her own right. Lady Bender is a powerful psalmist, intercessor, and a living testament to God’s sustaining power. Her presence is one of grace, wisdom, and spiritual strength, complementing Bishop Bender’s visionary leadership. Together, they are dedicated to advancing the Kingdom of God, nurturing the body of Christ, and building a strong foundation for future generations.
