Nov 16 ~ KNOWING THE GOD WHO HEARS: THE GOD WHO LISTENS
I John 3:22 “And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.”
In John 15:13-14, Jesus tells us that ”Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends; Ye are my friends, if you do whatsoever I command you.” We show our love and friendship to God by doing things that are pleasing to his sight and by consistent obedience, loyalty, and submission. The world has no interest or will to do things God has commanded or that would be pleasing to his sight. If we exalt our God, examine ourselves, encourage one another, explore God’s word, exercise our faith, and expect miracles, he will be pleased! The victory over both sin and COVID, will be ours because God is the God that hears!

Nov 15 ~ KNOWING THE GOD WHO HEARS: A GOD THAT CARES
Hebrews 4:16 “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”
With COVID, raging out of control, virtual learning, job insecurities, misinformation and confusion going on in the world, it’s comforting to know that we are all freely invited to go to God (Throne of Grace), with confidence knowing that we will find favor, strength, help, counsel, direction and support for the trials of life. 1Peter 5:7 states, “Casting all your cares upon him; for he careth for you.” For we know, He is the God that hears. Saints of God, be encouraged and hold on to God’s unchanging hand. Continue to seek him through Bible Study, fasting, and prayer because He will prevail.

Nov 14 ~ KNOWING THE GOD WHO HEARS: GOD HEARS THE PRAYERS OF THE RIGHTEOUS
I John 5:14 “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:”
Despite these challenging times in which we live, it is reassuring to know God still hears and answers prayer. He answers prayer in His timing and the answers are always in accordance with His Word. As saints, we must pray without ceasing while living a life that is pleasing to God. Let us take this day to make sure we are in obedience to God’s Word while we wait for answers to our prayers.

Nov 13 ~ KNOWING THE GOD WHO HEARS: GOD, THE HEARER
Isaiah 65:24 “And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.”
As saved, Holy Ghost filled people, we know that God will never leave or forsake us. We know that he will be with us always, even until the end of the world. Therefore it is important to stay connected to him because when we tap into his presence, he hears us and will answer us. 1Peter 3:12 says, “For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayers.” In these last and evil days, if we just call out to God (open our mouths), he will hear our cries and answer our prayers.

Nov 12 ~ KNOWING THE GOD WHO HEARS: BEYOND UNDERSTANDING
Jeremiah 33:3 “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”
The word of the Lord came unto Jeremiah while he was in prison reminding him that he serves a God that not only hears His people, but will show up in great and mighty ways. God appointed Jeremiah to prophesy judgment, salvation, and His coming to the nations. The plight of Jeremiah, a man of God who is imprisoned for sharing God’s instructions to His people, reminds us that our journey through life walking with God does not come without risk, rejection, and persecution. However, God’s assurance to Jeremiah serves as confirmation to us that even in a time of trouble, chaos, disease, bondage and injustice, God hears His people and He will answer and show us great and mighty things beyond our natural and finite understanding. We must remain faithful, trust and serve the true and living God, live holy, and know that when we call unto Him, He will answer!

Nov 11 ~ KNOWING THE GOD WHO HEARS: FAITHFUL TO THE SERVICE OF GOD
2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
In God, we live, so that we may serve him with our whole heart and be faithful workers in his kingdom. As servants of God, we have life if we obey his Word through the teachings and guidance of our pastor. In God, we move, walking in the Spirit always trusting in the Lord even during troubled times. We have our being in which God strengthens us to do his will, stand strong and serve him with gladness! God created us for his glory so that our lives may be a witness for him, to the unsaved and backsliders.

Nov 10 ~ KNOWING THE GOD WHO HEARS: GOD HAS OUR BACK
I Peter 3:12 “For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.”
The eyes of the Lord are over us all the time. He constantly watches, provides, and protects us. He knows our problems, but as long as we stay in Jesus, he will continue to protect and take care of us. God will not ignore the hurtful actions of those who bring suffering to his people. Justice will come in due time because God will forever have our back.

Nov 9 ~ KNOWING THE GOD WHO HEARS: A FATHER WHO HEARS MY CRY
St. John 14:26 “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”
The early spring of 1996 I received a call asking me if I wanted to return to Warrant Officer Candidacy school. I was very reluctant at first considering my age of 36 at the time, and the physical rigors needed to attend. I prayed about it, consulted with my wife and pastor, and God confirmed for me to go and that I would graduate. I had a major setback at the course that would have removed me. The night before I was going to be removed, the Comforter reminded me through the Word of God that “He would teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” Always remember to abide in God’s Word because it’s always true.

Nov 8 ~ KNOWING THE GOD WHO HEARS: THE WORD-KEEPER
Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”
“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away,” Matthew 24:35. I am thankful that despite the instabilities and uncertainties of this world that God promised to take care of his people. From feeding his people fresh manna every morning, to taking care of us during a Pandemic, God is completely trustworthy to keep his promise. Numbers 23:19 tells us that God is not a man, he can’t lie, nor does he change his mind. Because God is faithful we should use that same faith to know we can believe what he says and stand on the promise that we will be taken care of spiritually and physically.

2 Corinthians 5:17-18 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;”
When we are baptized in Jesus name, we become new creatures. Our previous sins are washed away. Saints of God, the Lord has heard your prayers. Leave the past behind. We are redeemed; look towards your future; walk in the newness of life!
