About

Faith Apostolic Church is a Pentecostal-Apostolic Church with a vision to raise a Spirit-filled house of prayer that builds the kingdom, wins the lost, and develops the believer to live righteously and victoriously. With three locations, we are committed to being "The Beacon of the City," a shining example of God's light in the communities we serve.

Our church family focuses on fostering a transformative relationship with Jesus Christ through the Holy Ghost, powerful worship, engaging teaching and authentic fellowship. Whether you're seeking answers, a deeper faith, or a supportive church community, you'll find a home at Faith Apostolic Church.

FAC History and Beliefs

History

Faith Apostolic Church was founded in 1969 when Bishop Heron and Lady Zholia Johnson moved from Flint, Michigan, to Birmingham, Alabama, answering God’s call to pastor Emmanuel Temple Holiness Church. In 1972, the church was renamed Faith Apostolic Church (FAC), marking a new season of ministry and growth.

Under Bishop Johnson’s leadership, FAC grew into a thriving, family-oriented ministry with additional congregations planted in Alabaster, Selma, Anniston, and Tuscaloosa. He also served as a pioneering leader in the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, helping to establish the Alabama District Council.

Beyond the pulpit, Bishop Johnson was known for his commitment to community and creation. He championed the preservation of the endangered watercress darter on church grounds, which led to the creation of the Seven Springs Ecoscape meditation garden in partnership with the Freshwater Land Trust. In recognition of his service, the City of Birmingham renamed the street in front of FAC Heron Johnson Drive in 2015.

Bishop Johnson faithfully pastored until his passing in November 2015, leaving a legacy of faith, leadership, and love that continues to guide FAC today.

Our Beliefs

Oneness of God

The bible is the divinely inspired Word of God. (2 Tim 3:16)

There is one God. He manifested himself in flesh as Jesus Christ, He revealed Himself as the Father, and as the Holy Ghost. (Dt 6:4; Jn 1:1-5,14; Jn 10:30; Jn 14:9,16; 2Cor 5:19)

Salvation

All have sinned and need salvation. (Rm 3:23)  We are saved by grace through faith in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. (Eph 2:8) Repentance and Baptism in water in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance  is essential and constitutes the new birth. (Acts 2:38, John 3:18, Acts 2:4, Acts 10:44-48 and Acts 19:1-7)

Ressurection

There will be a resurrection of the dead for both the just and unjust.  The just to the resurrection of life, the unjust to the resurrection of damnation. (Acts 24:15)
The Lord Jesus Christ will  return and catch away those who are born again in the clouds of glory to forever reign with him  (I Cor. 1:23-31;  I Thes 4:13-18)

Sanctification

Sanctification is the will of God for all believers through obedience to the Word of God . (Heb 10:9-10)
